The United States appointed a special envoy for Libya

The US Department of State appointed the US ambassador to Libya, Richard Norland, as the US special envoy to Libya, in addition to his task as head of the diplomatic mission in the country.

The US Embassy in Libya indicated that Norland’s new mission will focus on supporting a political solution in Libya and the process of removing foreign forces from the country.
