Vandals burnt vegetation surrounding Mafou Lake in south Libya

The residents of Qabroun area in Bent Baya Municipality in south Libya have condemned the deliberate burning of vegetation surrounding Mafou Lake, which took place in the past weeks.

Unknown vandals set fire to most of the palm trees and grass surrounding the lake, which is one of the tourist attractions in Libya.

In their statement, the residents demanded the General Authority for Tourism to take the necessary measures and support the municipality to address such repeated attacks.

Recently, several lakes in the region were subjected to vandalism without taking deterrent measures against the vandals.
