Libyans stranded abroad allowed to return home via the land borders

The Minister of Transport of the Government of National Accord, Milad Matouk, said that instructions were issued to allow the return of Libyan citizens stranded abroad after the closure of Libyan sea, air and land borders on Monday, March 15.
He added that the return will be only through the Wazen, Ras Ajdir and Al-Baren border crossings, indicating that health measures will be taken against the returnees.
His statement came in a press conference with the Ministers of Health and Foreign Affairs, in addition to the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior.
For his part, the Minister of Health, Ahmed Omar, stressed that Libya is free of the Coronavirus and that no confirmed cases were recorded, noting that the precautionary measures should continue in anticipation of any emergency.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mohamed Siala, stated that instructions were issued to Libyan consulates abroad to deal with the conditions of citizens, adding that the Foreign Ministry has requested technical assistance from China to dispatch experts to prevent the Coronavirus.
