Libyan International Organization for People with Disabilities observes International Day of Disabled Persons

The Libyan International Organization for the People with Disabilities has held a celebration to observe the International Day of Disabled Persons. The celebration was attended by the Orphanage, Dar Al-Wafaa for the Elderly, Tripoli Sports Club and Children and Women Association, as well as other associations specialized in the disabled persons’ affairs and centers of mental abilities. According to the organizers, the celebration was postponed due to their protest, demanding authorities to provide them with better education and employment opportunities. The organizers also complained about marginalization and government’s apathy towards them, saying that only NGOs are providing them with their needs.
