A seminar on the negative role of social media held in Tripoli

The General Authority for Monitoring Media Content held a seminar in Tripoli on Thursday on the negative role of social media under the theme “The negative role of social media – Libya as a model”.

The seminar included dialogue sessions on the role of social networking sites where research papers were also presented about the role of citizen journalism in society and its impact on the Libyan media, the situation of the communications sector in Libya, and the demographic growth of society.

The Head of the Authority, Jalal Othman, told the Libyan Cloud News Agency that this seminar came at the initiative of fellow journalists from the city of Benghazi.

He added that by the year 2023, there will be branches of the authority in the eastern and southern regions, indicating that the work of the authority focuses on controlling media violations and creating quality in the media content.
