NOC declares force majeure on crude production in Al-Sharara and El-Feel oilfields
Libyan Cloud News Agency – Tripoli
The National Oil Corporation (NOC) has declared force majeure on crude production in Al-Sharara and El-Feel oilfields after the closure of valves pumping crude from the two oilfields.
The NOC said in a statement that it is losing 330,000 barrels per day, estimated at more than 160 million Libyan dinars.
The Chairman NOC, Mustafa Sanallah, said that a group of gangs led by “Mohammad Al-Bashir Al-Gorj” closed the crude valves, as prices exceeded 100 dollars per barrel.
He added that the same gang closed the valves between 2014-2016, accusing “hidden hands” of being behind the gang to drag the country into chaos.
Sanallah confirmed that a complaint has been submitted to the Public Prosecution to take deterrent measures against the gang.
