“Free Voices Coalition” established to defend media freedom

Members of Atwar Organization for Research and Community Development held a workshop on Libyan media under the theme “Towards legislative and structural reform of the Libyan media”.

The Head of Atwar Organization Turkiya Al-Waer announced in a press conference at the end of the workshop the establishment of “Free Voices Coalition” to defend media freedom.

Al-Waer stressed that the freedom of the media is a basic human right and it must be protected.

She said that journalists have the right of access for information, adding that media freedom and the independence of the press are the main pillars on which rational regimes and political pluralism are based.
