The HNEC signed MoU with the ECES to support elections in Libya

The High National Elections Commission (HNEC) signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the European Center for Electoral Support (ECES) to promote democratic values and reduce electoral violence.

The Head of the HNEC, Imad Al-Sayeh, and the Executive Director and founder of the Center, Fabio Bargiacchi, signed the MoU in Tripoli, in the presence of a group of international experts in the field of elections.

The MoU aims to strengthen election management based on the expertise and resources of both sides, and invest them in developing capacities in the field of monitoring and media training against electoral violence, in addition to promoting peaceful mediation and community dialogue based on trust and human rights.

It also aims to provide advisory and logistical support and develop information technologies and mobile applications for electoral awareness.
