The Presidential Council reviews the political process with a number of ambassadors accredited to Libya

The Head of the Presidential Council Mohammad Al-Menfi and his deputy Abdullah Al-Lafi held a meeting with a number of ambassadors accredited to Libya on Wednesday.
The Special Adviser to the Secretary-General of the United Nations on Libya, Stephanie Williams, and the Head of the European Union Mission to Libya, Jose Sabadell, attended the meeting.
The participants reviewed the efforts of the Presidential Council in advancing the political process and the national reconciliation, in addition to the obstacles hindering the electoral process.
They also reviewed the participation of all political parties in efforts to resolve the Libyan crisis, based on the outcomes of the political dialogue through the Berlin process 1 and 2.
Al-Menfi renewed the Presidential Council’s welcome and support for the initiative of Williams, stressing that the solution in Libya is political and not a legal one, confirming that the Presidential Council will not allow more institutional division or any armed clash.
The Special Adviser to the Secretary-General of the United Nations on Libya, Stephanie Williams praised the work of the Presidential Council and its role in preserving the country’s unity, expressing her deep gratitude for the support of the Presidential Council for her recent initiative.
For their part, the ambassadors of the United Kingdom, Egypt, Italy, Qatar, Greece, Morocco, Algeria, the United States of America, Germany, Tunisia, Turkey, the Congo, Spain, France, Malta, Russia, the Netherlands, and the United Arab Emirates affirmed their support for the steps taken by the Presidential Council in unifying state institutions and working on the file of national reconciliation, expressing their welcome to the initiative of Williams to agree on a constitutional basis for the upcoming elections .
