Presidential Council holds a meeting with mayors to discuss the Coronavirus epidemic

The head of the Presidential Council, Fayez al-Sarraj, held on Tuesday, March 17, a meeting with members of the Council and mayors of the municipal councils in the central, western, and southern region, in addition to the Nafusa Mountain, to discuss the mechanism to tackle the Coronavirus.
This meeting discussed the problems faced by the municipalities, especially the risks and repercussions of the Coronavirus epidemic.
In his speech, the head of the Presidential Council said that the municipalities have an essential role to face this epidemic, by monitoring and obligating everyone to follow the preventive measures issued by the medical and security agencies.
He called for full coordination between the municipalities and the Crisis Committee to follow up the latest developments about the disease and ensure that the preventive measures are respected.
Council member Mohammed Amari Zayad said that the Municipal Guard would be provided with 750 cars, as well as allocating an amount of 75 million dinars to the municipalities to confront this epidemic.
