Libyan Prime Minister called for a strong economic partnership with Russia

The Prime Minister of the Government of National Unity, Abdul Hamid Dabaiba, declared that Libya expects to open a new page in relations with Russia.
“We know that the Russia has historically supported the Libyan people, and we want push our cooperation forward and build new bridges for relations between our two countries.” Dabaiba said during his meeting with Russian Defense Minister, Sergey Shoygu, in Moscow on Friday.
He added that he expects a new economic recovery in Libya in which Russia will be present as a strong economic partner and supporter of Libya.
Russian Defense Minister Sergey Shoygu said that Russia’s efforts helped achieve a political settlement in Libya and the cessation of hostilities, adding that Moscow expects to resume cooperation between the military administrations in the two countries.
He explained that the relations between Russia and Libya have a long history, considering Dabaiba’s visit to Moscow as the first step towards restoring the comprehensive cooperation between the military administrations in the two countries.
