A meeting to discuss the Coronavirus pandemic held in Tripoli

The Ministry of Health of the Government of National Accord has held a meeting to discuss plans to combat any suspected cases of the Coronavirus.
The Ministers of Health and Local Government, the head of the Parliament’s Health Committee, the director of the National Center for Disease Control, the mayors of the Greater Tripoli Municipalities, the Central and Western regions and Jabal Nafusa attended the meeting.
The Minister of Health, Ahmed bin Omar, said in a statement to the Libyan Cloud News Agency that the meeting discussed the executive procedures to implement the response plan prepared by the National Center for Disease Control to fight the disease.
He added that the meeting also discussed with the mayors ways to set up places for quarantine to deal with any suspected cases, stressing that no cases of this virus have been reported in the country.
For his part, Minister of Local Government, Milad al-Taher, explained that the Coronavirus pandemic needs intensified efforts from the mayors because of their important role in implementing the response plan.
It is noteworthy that the head of the Presidential Council of the Government of National Accord, Fayez al-Sarraj, has announced a set of precautionary measures that include an allocation of 500 million Libyan dinars to address the Coronavirus pandemic.
