A new shelter for female and child migrants opened in Tripoli

Interior Minister Khaled Mazen inaugurated a new shelter for female and child migrants in Abu Salim area in Tripoli on Sunday.
The shelter accommodates approximately 1,500 migrants and includes a classroom, a kindergarten, a gym, a computer lab, a sewing lab, a medical clinic and a pharmacy.
Mazen said in a press briefing to the media that this step comes within the efforts of the Ministry of Interior to provide humanitarian and health care to these categories of migrants in order to alleviate their suffering until they are voluntarily returned to their countries.
He called on the concerned international organizations to help in combating irregular migration, in cooperation with the Ministry of Interior and the Anti-Illegal Migration Agency.
