A number of employees of the African Airlines Company organized a protest in Algiers Square in Tripoli on Wednesday. They protested against the company’s conditions, which were close to collapse as a result of divisions and conflicts that led to the deterioration of the operational situation of the trips, which negatively affected the citizen in particular.
In their statement, the protesters urged the Presidential Council to instruct the Libyan-African Aviation Holding Company to form a new board of directors immediately. They asked for qualified members selected according to efficiency criteria away from quotas.
The Central Bank of Libya is urged to facilitate the remittance of companies with which they have commitments in foreign currency (Spare parts companies, handling services, ground services, etc.) to meet contracts with those service providers.
The maintenance engineer at the Technical Department Rami Shanshen said that the company is currently operating three planes, one in Benghazi (Airbus 319) and two in Tripoli (Airbus 330 and 320), and their technical inspection is on its way.

The company currently has four aircrafts that need maintenance, one at Mitiga Airport, another at Misrata Airport and two at Tripoli International Airport, which have been suspended since 2014.
