Sudanese refugees appeal to UNHCR for assistance

Sudanese citizen, Nafisa Ahmed Said, from Darfur says that her family was threatened, assaulted and ill-treated. After the burning of her husband and her two children, she left and escaped with her remaining son to Libya. She was advised to go to the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, but she suffered hardship. The road through the desert was rough, and gangs in the desert kidnapped her son, Tayeb Abdullah Yaqoub. They asked for 5000 Libyan dinars, all the family collected money, so they let him go. They continued their journey from Sabha towards Tripoli so that they could reach the office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees. When they contacted them, and after checking their papers and the circumstances, the war broke out. She was displaced again, she stays in a school with her son. Today she appeals to the UNHCR to consider her situation, which she described as very bad.
