Al-Lafi and the Chargé d’Affaires of the US Embassy discuss Libyan situations

Vice President of the Presidential Council, Abdullah Al-Lafi, held a meeting in his office in Tripoli on Wednesday with the Chargé d’Affaires of the US Embassy to Libya, Leslie Ordeman.
Both sides discussed ways to advance the political process in Libya, holding elections according to a constitutional basis agreed upon by all parties, and the importance of the national reconciliation to achieve peace and stability in the country.
Al-Lafi stressed that the Presidential Council always seeks and tries to create consensus among all political parties in Libya, support the meetings of the 5 + 5 military commission, and move forward with new steps for the national reconciliation project.
For his part, Ordeman praised the efforts of the Presidential Council in its attempts to reach consensus among all political parties, appreciating the Council’s efforts in the national reconciliation project, which is considered the great and important challenge for the start of a real elections that achieve stability in the country.
