The Head of the United Nations Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL), Jan Kubis, met in Tripoli with members of the Presidential Council Abdullah Al-Lafi and Mosa Al-Koni.
Kubis briefed them on the results of his visit to the eastern region during the past days, during which he held discussions on the mechanisms of unifying the army.
During the meeting, the participants stressed the need to unify the military institution and to support the Joint Military Committee 5 + 5 to carry out its tasks as required, which would lead to the reopening of the coastal road and the withdrawal of foreign forces from the entire Libyan territory.
The meeting also dealt with the situation in the south, especially the Libyan-Chadian borders, after the recent events in Chad, and how to secure them to prevent any threats against Libya.
