The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Najla Al-Manqoush, held a press conference in Tripoli on Sunday with the President of the European Council, Charles Michel.
Al-Manqoush said that this visit means a lot to Libya, thanking the European Council’s support for the Government of National Unity and the EU efforts to consolidate Libyan-European relations.
Al-Manqoush welcomed the return of European embassies to Tripoli, calling on the rest of the countries to return their embassies and consulates to provide their services to Libyan citizens and foreigners.
For his part, Michel affirmed that the European Union is working with the Government of National Unity at all levels.
He said that the EU will provide support to Libya by providing 50,000 doses of Covid-19 vaccine in the near future.
He concluded that all mercenaries must leave the country, stressing that the elections should be held on time.
